.I wonder if any enterprising individuals are doing the same now with other destinations.
The drug runners hire desperate "runners" to swallow balloons of drugs to bring across the border in their stomachs. The "mules" get free passage and maybe a few bucks for their families, but it comes at the risk of their lives if the baggies burst in transit.
