The need to keep pension funds afloat is one reason I think the political pressure will be on to keep rates artificially low but we can't keep piling on debt or buying the long bonds to keep those rates low by "printing more money" at the rate of inflation... so yeah, the austerity will have to come from somewhere and it probably won't be fun. Having a lot of cash is wise I think but they'll call us "rich racists" and find a way to get it by some legal means, perhaps issuing "Harris/Warrne/AOC Dollars" (or whomever wins next by promising free stuff) to those who vote for them to subsidize purchases.... sort of what they've already started doing here with paying people to have kids they can't afford in the first place.

Cramer seems to think we'll have schools and life in the Metaverse, perhaps where he can be taller.... and that will be a way to end the broken education system, but I think it will make things worse as the "poor" will be told they can get as fat as Jabba the Hut while they look like super heros in the Metaverse and the wealthy go to private schools (unless Joe outlaws those like Xi has in China) with small "pods" of rich neighbors, much like schools were in "the old days."
