At 3%, the government enters a death spiral where each year's deficit will be higher than the previous year's even if they cut the spending and raise taxes (within reason). I did that math over the weekend.

In theory, that can temporarily happen. But in practice the government will not have it. Just like they kept the interest rates low during the '40s despite the high inflation.

You already know my opinion on how this and why this will end. In about 10 years, USD will cease to be the reserve currency and that will be the final shock to system that knocks it over.
