Thanks Christine, I didn't know that Mrs. Willey didn't know her husband had died on the day she visited Clinton. That actually makes me feel much better about that particular incident.

Even though I disagree diametrically with much of Clinton's social and fiscal policies, I do want to believe that the man isn't a total monster. There is no doubt that Clinton is a far superior communicator to the people, compared for instance to George Bush. When Bill Clinton came here to the Pacific NW (Portland, OR and Woodland, WA) during some bad flooding a couple of years ago, the speeches he gave were as warm and sincere as any President could give, and at that time I felt I could be proud to have him as President. I probably have too romantic and idealistic visions of what a President should be I know, which makes things like what I thought the Willey incident was all the harder to take.
