I sleep very well too.
Staying long is the best way usually to outperform in the long run. Of course, as we age I like to raise more cash to get towards 50:50 by age 70...

I differ from Brinker because I rebalance about once a year so we took significant profits as the market peaked to do that rebalance in core funds (sometimes it is good to be lucky! I was worried the markets would peak before the new year but people delayed selling to delay capital gains taxes I think.)

I wrote an article on my website about the extra return you can gain just from volatility and regular rebalancing but many may think it too much work, especially if taxes are involved...
He got me back in the market in 2017
Odd.... I thought he was fully invested since 2003? He missed the 2007/2008 and 2020 bear markets with buys all the way down for the 2007/08 one but those would have worked out OK if you held.

If you don't mind my asking, why were you out in 2017?
