Believe it or not but back in the 1980s I proposed cutting military spending to support ME oil and put it into finding an alternative such as fusion and solar.

I went to UC to study nuclear and electrical engineering in 1975 to do this with fusion but found it took a Phd and I could not afford a Masters... so I switched to semiconductors and helped bring about a low cost internet.

I'd still rather see money going to infrastructure and panels on everyone's roof than the arms dealers who profit from the US not getting along with Russia, China and the Middle East.
