jhild, Quite right you are about the vitamins waning nearly to zilch in the processing from grapes to grappa. However, the potassium remains. Vitamin pills indeed are excellent but don't taste quite as good. On a note of trivia and contrary to popular belief, when cooking with alcohol much of the alcohol content survives the cooking process, and one can get quite ripped on the beef burgundy or coq au vin and never feel a thing.
