A case can be made that Trump started the inflationary cycle because of the extreme spending related to Covid, yes. He didn't do that after 2020 however. In terms of labor costs, in the past few years real wages have declined significantly. So no, unit labor costs are not what's driving this inflationary cycle. Thankfully, however, unit labor costs are up nominally. If they weren't we would already be in a recession like the 1930's.
