Oil and semiconductor markets are so efficient, that you should always trust the trend over the fundamentals you read in the news.

Yes if Oil usually surges when semi's start to tank...

I've sort of used past drawdowns from peaks...

For example... when LRCX was surging I would try to trade its volatility for extra return on a fairly tight range compared to its long term volatility... ie maybe 15 to 20% moves to buy or sell... then when it lost support, which is often a H&S top or a breakdown of a flag or pennant, then I pull back and put the next buy much lower, perhaps looking to start adding somewhat before it reaches its last decline percentage... then look to add in increments below that. It worked so far, very well for this up, down and perhaps turning up cycle...
