Ian is one of the smartest guys out there and this is very much in tune with what I've been trying to say. I'm copying and pasting the thread here with a link to his tweet for credit.

We wrote to @asr_london clients that 'Time is NOT Your Friend' if you buy Equities at the wrong valuation. While Equities trend higher in nominal terms, in real terms you can be out of the money for a long time; 30 years after 1929, 20 years from 1968 and 15 years from 2000.

It is worth remembering the old market saying “A long-term investment is a short-term trade gone wrong!” when someone tells you that you should be 'buying for the long run'. The entry level for every investment matters, whether you intend to hold for the short run or long run.
