| | | For the last decade or so, I've been adding INTC shares in my ROTH and regular IRA ...
Curious - why Intel?
ADI or MCHP seem like much better diversified semi stocks in less competitive spaces.
Intel is losing share to AMD-TSMC, and has to spend a lot to try to regain process leadership (or even parity), and we won't know if that spending is successful until the money is spent.
In other words, Intel seems risky as hell to me ever since they began losing share to AMD-TSMC.
Why do you (a semi guy) disagree?
My best guess for Intel's future outlook is they spend and develop and spend and develop and spend and develop, and at best, they maintain current share.
More likely, AMD also spends and develops for years and years, and AMD takes share from Intel each year.
Rather than being involved in that battle, one can just own MCHP or ADI, and grow with the semi industry. Minimal risk from competition with those two, I think.
Why is Intel better than them? |
