When you can't respond to an argument, then critique the person.

Which only goes to prove my point that their personal attacks only serve to trigger interest in what it is they are in such a knot about. Instead of specific discussion about the product its competitors, you have a guy who walks around kicking up dust and clanging pots -- seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.

I noticed early on that there was rarely any discussion about the specific capabilities of the product which I found puzzling, until I found out why. There is no unique, revolutionary technology; only a run-of-the-mill adaptation of existing modem chipsets to legacy corporate telephone systems.

There are several players within this niche but roaming employees are apparently not a priority. One has to make the distinction between remote and roaming because there are different technologies which can be consistently applied depending on which type of employee you have. Again, the key point to be made is that BT and its competitors would only be considered where direct access to the corporate telephone system (PBX) is required.

The trend is away from such systems and toward intranet- and Internet-based solutions but bridge products are being introduced in increasing numbers. BT isn't even a mildly interesting product, IMO, but should the market magically spring to life you will see Lucent, Nortel and others providing those extensions without much effort.
