I don't know why this became such a partisan issue. In the past, it was the GOP like Meg Whitman who got into trouble for having low pay, undocumented housekeepers while the Democrats wanted secure borders to protect jobs. Now with gentrification in most nice cities and suburbs, there is huge competition for low cost housing for all these people while we're told were racist or greedy if we don't want to build high density, higher crime low cost housing in our single family neighborhoods. Oddly, the news remains silent and only seems to report on stories about how local politicians here won't let our police help ICE.



BTW, the talk here is to raise our property taxes to pay off a special $20B bond to build and subsidize more housing.
