Hi Janice, Hunter Thompson is a PhD, perhaps in journalism, and entitled to the "Doctor" form of address. He is not a doctor of medicine. Yes, I did read "Better than Sex", also his classic Hell's Angels, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Curse of Lono, The Great Shark Hunt, and a few others.
