Janice,

That is one of the biggest problems we myopics have with contact lenses, particularly as we develop presbyopia (old eyes) and become more farsighted--you can't read a freakin' thing while wearing contact lenses. I understand bifocal contact lenses are available now, let's face it, anyone who is too lazy to HTML (moi) is too lazy to mess with contact lenses.

Truthfully, the only plus I experienced wearing contact lenses was being able to really SEE, and straight lines really were straight, rather than subtly curved.

The upside to being very nearsighted is that we have a builtin reading prescription. Also we are able to apply our our eye makeup with deft precision.
