Russell, Pierre Elliot Trudeau , IMHO, was a leader and an intellectual, a rare commodity IME. Leadership is indeed a rare commodity among the current pack of politicians. It involves doing (and saying) what you believe is best for the country, not for the politician or his party or his financial supporters or his voting blocks. But that sort of thing implies some inherent belief systems and courage. Neither of those qualities has been rewarded by either the population or the media in recent years. Jack
