You are correct. The smoking law is to be reviewed by the State Legislature, but not because the people of California are up in arms over it. Most are not, as evidenced by the heated debate held on a couple of threads here at SI early in January.

The reason the law is to be reviewed is that it is one of the most poorly written, impossible-to-enforce, incomprehensible pieces of legislation ever to come out of the hallowed halls of Sacramento. In fact, it probably will wind up in law text books as a classic example of how NOT to write legislation, and that's a good place for it to go!

Agreed! The free market accommodated the smokers and the nonsmokers admirably and this law is unwelcome and unnecessary, in my opinion.
