I'm reposting this old 2021 story because it's pretty remarkable: Pfizer abandoned a market of 1.4 billion people simply because the government requested small local safety trials and because Pfizer wasn't granted legal immunity. Pfizer Inc said on Friday it had withdrawn an application for emergency-use authorisation of its COVID-19 vaccine in India, after failing to meet the drug regulator’s demand for a local safety and immunogenicity study.
