Good Morning Kirk,

IF we have a UAW strike of over 2 weeks, The OEM's will drop all rebates, and the used market will get scoured for hot product. That one two punch of no rebates and no used inventory from trade-ins, will once again boost used vehicle prices.

Higher used vehicles and higher gas prices will give Mr. Biden and Fed Chair Powell major sticky higher inflation.

That could be the trigger for locking in more duration on treasuries (5.5% to 6% for 3 to 5 years).

It could be a great time to earn some yield for the savers of us.

Collect dividends and Treasury interest payments while buying the dip in equities.

A sure fired way to grow the portfolio, with a long term perspective.

A UAW strike and a government shut down (both in September) which will only get resolved after the Dems have to sign off on equal and across the board government expenditure cuts (3 to 5 percent?). I heard they've already agreed to 1% cuts immediately id we have another shut down.

Sooner or later the Dems will learn to hate shutdowns. They might even find it their duty to do their job and write a budget, prioritize needs and cut the pork and political favorites i.e The New green Deal 2.0 called the Inflation Reduction Act.

Gonna be interesting to see this evolve and it will be sooner than later.

Bob
