Reagan fired all the striking ATCs because there were replacement workers available - many through military. There was a plan. Govt can do amazing things - contrary to what some morons think. Day 1 of the strike, 1/2 of ATC replacements showed up. Only 1/2 the planes flew. Govt doesn’t have a stock. It can wait people out. If F and Gm fire all of the uaw workers, their stocks will lose 1/3 value right away. The board will fire CEOs and replace them with people. And hence no one will hire you as their CEO. Look at what trump is saying. The market is never free for any company. It is held hostage by the investors.
