Hi Kirk,

My best long term friend I met at the age of 14.

He used to make me mad as he always loved my parents. They were the kind loving parents he never had.

It pointed out I was the recipient of caring generous parents and frankly I took it all for granted and was spoiled.

His mother lied about his age when he was 15 to go in the Army. His step father was a mean drunk and Frank was not his son - it was an abusive situation.

Over my college days we kept in touch. Before he received orders to go to Viet Nam he had a 30 day leave to return home. He went back to his home and knocked on the front door. Hhis step father answered the door and told him he didn't live there anymore and wasn't welcome!

Frank then walked to the bank where I worked while lugging his duffle bag which contained everything he owned in the world. Upon my joy of seeing hime, he told me the story of his stepfathers meanness/cruelty.

I told my Dad the situation and Dad told me to run Frank out to our house and unpack for the stay. I had for the first time a real brother. Long story short we have hunted and fished together many times over the years.
Now we're retired and we see eachother 4 to 5 times a year.

I was always never able to hunt or fish as well as Frank - I lived in the shadow of his excellence in those regards.

He and his two sons now have a multi million dollar business of finish grading and erosion control in Lincoln Nebraska. I hunt ducks with Frank and his boys in Nebraksa and we fish in Wiscionsin with Frank's younger brother.

He in my mind is the epitome of "The Great American Success" story.

He made it without anyone's help and with a derogatory first family life. experience. Truly exceptional.

To train our citizenship to be on the teat of government is counterproductive to creating these kinds of success stories.

We need less of a safety net and more of the ability to start a business, work hard, be able to keep the fruits of your efforts and become exceptional role models worthy of all to emulate them.

THAT IS OUR HERITAGE, and WE NEED TO PROTECT THAT!

Carbon Tax it yesterday. You'll not see AAPL build new plants in India!

Delink the polluters and reshore our consumption needs.

If we have to accept higher inflation, at least it will be because our laborers are benefitting from it. We also need to make sure management is not excessively paid and stockholders get a piece of that action as well.

Balance grasshopper Balance
