Honestly. Look, I'm not trying to be unkind here, but could we perhaps actually read a little history? JFK never wore braces; FDR did. The latter could in fact not walk, and used a modified wheelchair when not in public view. Kennedy had a bad back and Addison's disease, which is a disorder of the pancreas. Hodgkins' is now treatable, but it wasn't in the '60s; he would have died pretty quickly.
