The point is that it was conservatives that voted against the 1964 civil rights act!

And the Republican party by and large has been the party of the rich and conservatives for 100 years.

Not one liberal voted against it.

And most of those Democratic conservatives were southern slave state Dixiecrats that mostly all moved to the Republican party after the vote who told them they didn't like the 64 civil rights act either.

The Democratic party has always been the party of liberals for 100 years and is why the minorities vote Democratic in every election.

We liberals have always had their back for the last 80 years!!

To call and count Dixiecrats as representing the Democratic party in general is patently dishonest!!

Civil rights presented a problem for Dems, which is why the party adopted a policy of running Democrats for President ... Carter, Clinton, Gore.
