The Republicans and Democrats in the past need to be characterized by the liberal or conservative ideology

And the reason is "scientific" i.e. ideology is a much better predictor of voting patterns, not party, and for a very good fucking reason!

Both parties, in the past, had both liberal and conservative members; AND the parties switched ideology in around 1900.

Lincoln was a stone cold liberal and people who voted against the 1964 civil rights act were ALL conservative, and no liberals.

And this is why all minorities vote for Democrats over Republicans.

And I would expect you and Wharf to know that!!!!
