Serious question for once. Can an impeached former President claim unemployment insurance ?

Good question. Impeachment alone doesn't count; he'd also have to be convicted. I believe, however, it's still not a judicial proceeding in the real sense of the word, so that unless he were subsequently arraigned in a criminal case, and lost, he wouldn't have a record. But I have no idea whether former felons are eligble for unemployment insurance. Might depend on whether in fact they'd ever been gainfully employed. Do we feel that politicians are gainfully employed?
