Hi Kirk,

Once again here we are on opposites sides again.<smile>

May the best team win.

We just get used to agreeing to disagree until the fourth quarter is over.

I drove to Houston to house sit when the cold spell hits tomorrow.

Got here late Friday night and have been a busy bee getting my citrus trees wrapped for the cold.

I cut a 10 foot wire (2x4) mesh and made them into circles with ties straps. Then wrapped them with double bubble wrap and tie strapped them to the wire.

From past times I have outdoor extension cords to each ot the seven trees where I plug in an incandescent light bulb on the ground. Then on top of the cage, I tighten a "Planket" to the cage and stake it to the ground.

That traps the heat and prevents a freeze. Going to leave it on for 30 days which is the usual max cold period.

Jan and I have a trip to Costa Rica in February. Upon return, we'll take it apart and hope for spring.

Three years ago we lost all of our citrus trees to a very cold wave for 3 days (below zero).

We hoped for two years they'd regrow, but it was always the root stock. Our back yard is all trees and we learned to like the fresh lemons and grapefruit.

So we paid for new and older citrus hoping to get them back quicker than nurturing them for 6-7 years as in the past.

Plan on saving them annually. Hopefully.

Looking forward to enjoying a favorite restaurant of yours. Those pictures you post, make me salivate. <smile>

Bob
