They almost always happen overnight b/c that is when most of the news is released. If you read my thread, you'll see that I emphasize choosing the right timeframe. It is the most important decision you make. Just because the markets are choppy, doesn't mean you will be successful in trading. And just because you can day trade well (90+% cannot, but assuming that you could), it doesn't mean you will be able to beat a good investor.
