I take it you are not a fan of UBI (Universal Basic Income) payments for legal residents or giving cash cards to illegal immigrants so they can buy food.
I think every citizen and immigrant who resides in the US should pay at least $100.00 in taxes and it should be indexed to inflation.

Everyone who enjoys the world's largest economy should have skin in the game. Even those on Social Security.

The tax system and its earned income tax credit system very often returns more than put in.

All players need skin in the game!
Even worse is paying for people's mistakes such as paying $100K to get a degree that qualifies you to make $6 coffee. (ie paying off their student debt so they can keep their expensive iPhones and Netflix subscriptions.)
