Seems reasonable. I have Waymo HQ hiking distance from my house... so perhaps I see a lot of their vehicles testing ideas, but Google is better in my mind than Apple for the same reason it will probably beat Tesla long-term by putting its Waymo technology in hybrid Prius and Lexus vehicles via license and perhaps expand to other car makers. It might be why Apple gave up on the Apple cars as Google/Alphabet has far more data from its free maps app plus years of testing Waymo. Don't underestimate the hatred California progressives have for Musk. A national tech reporter who lives a few miles away in Palo Alto wrote about how he had to get over his dislike for supporting Musk to upgrade his Tesla and it came down to money... Musk/Tesla allowed him to get the $10K lifetime FSD software transferred from his older Tesla to a new one if he paid to upgrade. He likes $10K more than he dislikes Musk and felt he had to justify the cost savings in his article.
