OK, if it's not a firewall then, it's probably is what I initially said - i'm going to check it out though - but it probably then relates to operating system security of CSCO switches and CSCO routers. My experience, although - keep in mind we are biased to CHKPF - is that clients feel more comfortable with the software solution. For multiple reasons - specifically they want to do what is more of an industry standard - ie. CHKPF, AXNT, TISX, CYBG - and secondly, clients have more understanding ,familiarity, and general comfort level with software solutions - specifically Windows NT. As far as performance concerns go, I have clients running Check Point FireWall-1 on NT with 1,500 users and they have great performance to the Internet.
