You see the NCR/Symbiosis chips on the
cheap SCSI adapters you get with scanner's
etc. I've got one of the cheap, $50, scsi pci
adapters in my system. I got it to handle an
external Plextore cd-rom instead of replacing
it with an ide cd-rom.
