Hi Jon. I found your message while going back over emails. I had missed it. I wrote a long reply then did a spastic click and lost it. I wish SI had an automatic save function so spastic clicks don't lose posts. I should do them off-line then copy/paste into SI.

I forget all I wrote after days of sulking. But the gist of it was that genetically engineering hens so that they produce just the parts wanted, without the unnecessary components such as bones, brains [other than the brain stem to drive digestion functions and swallowing, feathers might be the most efficient way to get the meat that is wanted.

But maybe it would be easier still to blend plants into digestion tanks with microbes to produce nutrients which could then be fed to hen meat genes. It's way out of my field of knowledge but I suppose swarms of biologists are trying to invent such processes because people like eating meat.
