Kirk, I don't have a view on breaking up Google personally, but I think the main argument for break up is they have too much power.

If the current Biden DOJ wants a breakup, one would think that a Trump admin might want a break up of a powerful left leaning company.

Youtube especially could be spun off. Just last week an account I like, Glenn Diesen, posted that Youtube yanked his account and directed followers to Rumble. Jeffrey Sachs subsequently intervened and Diesen's Youtube channel was reinstated. I think Diesen's only offense was being critical of the West's position on Ukraine war.

I suspect that there are many in DC on both sides that would like to see Google's power curbed. If a breakup occurs it will be for that reason. Too much power outside the beltway
