They were bleeding.” Carlson says he did consider the possibility that he had scratched himself in his sleep, but quickly concluded that would not have been likely, explaining: “I sleep on my side so I wasn’t clawing myself. Bewildered by what he believes he experienced, Carlson said he turned to advice from his assistant, who is the “only evangelical Christian he knows,” and who promptly told him: “Oh yeah, that happens, people are attacked in their bed by demons.”
