The sort of Neanderthal attitude you apparently consider
appropriate would be an embarrassment to grownups everywhere.

Janice, the point was that the father was lacking something in his character for not being outraged by what happened to his daughter.

Sure she - at 21 - was old enough, hey, 18 year olds are old enough and a lot of 16 year old will tell you they are old enough, but the point is not what the girl thinks but what rips through a father's heart, assuming he has one when he hears about the activity.

Despite the challenges to the mores of our forefathers - which incidently the good Doctor is assumed to have been inculcated with, most men will tell you that they know a letch when they see one cause men know what men are about. Kind of indicts men but so be it, but one of the only redeeming things about us is that some of us resist the urge to follow the base passions which lower us to that of dogs and the like. (ok Ok you other guys, I speak for myself only)

But, some things will always be beyond respect of society. Boys having sex with their mothers, father's with their daughters, step children as well, and yes old men in positions of power and authority in particular with their underlings to mention a few.

There is a conflict of interest inherent in the relationship, if nothing else.

That is why the father aught to be beside himslef not at Ken Starr but at Bill Clinton.

Apparently, though, water in this case is thicker than blood and this father appears to be more that willing to carry buckets of water for the president.

JMHO, jim
