Thank you, aj! Much appreciated. In the end, competing with China would require leapfrogging them in the realm of productivity - which can happen only through automation. Playing with taxation and currency manipulations will not do it. Bringing back home the old fashioned jobs which we lost over the past several decades - won’t do it either. What to do about employment? I think, people will have to invent more ways of being gainfully employed. It’s hardly possible to tell what people may be able to think up. Holding back our technology horses for the purpose of fuller employment - is simply a path for getting left behind.
