I pulled it all out. It was a small IRA Jan's last employer funded for her.

I don't like paying 41.3 % year after year of an increasingly larger distribution.

I bought some treasuries the last 2 years. By the time you pay interest income rates 40% plus of it goes to the government in quarterly estimates.

Everyone says the government is paying more in interest than the defense budget. What no one ever says is they get 40% back in taxes.through quarterly estimates.

When treasuries peak out at 4.25 with 41.3% taxes you are keeping 2.5% after tax.

It makes VZ's dividend of $2.71/$40.86 yield of 6.6% x .8 = 5.3% after tax look pretty good. OVER TWICE, but with some risk.

All accounts need a blend based on the risk one wants to take
