Important development for VTSS, GaAs...there is a new SiGe player. Up to this point it has been IBM that has delved heavily into SiGe, and is just now releasing some products. However, today ATML announced an acquisition which will apparently "leapfrog" them into a leadership position in SiGe. Message 3516864 It's possible that ATML could push the prices way down on Vitesse products (and others) due to the lower cost and superior characteristics of SiGe. If you don't trust me, check out what Forbes ASAP has to say about SiGe. Apparently, Forbes ASAP has removed GaAs from the "up and coming" list, and added SiGe. Forbes ASAP hasn't yet issued a "buy" on ATML, but that should be coming soon.
