I HATE these selective rules that give breaks to selected industries or jobs. Why should the bartender not have to pay taxes on his tips while the janitor who is contracted to clean the joint each night has to pay taxes on all his salary, unless it is OT?

I also hate anything that treats anyone differently than the general public. I think all these rules for just about everything significantly ads to costs for compliance, calculating worker taxes, etc, etc. Biden should have been tossed in jail for publicly stating he would select a running mate based on lack of a penis and skin color.... same with some of his SCOTUS nominations. I can see why it angered so many of the middle who switched to Trump.

I also think this crap from the mouth of POTUS that he's not taxing SS is a frigging lie and he should be held to it. IF you make a buck over his threshold income, which is not much money here in Taxifornica, you lose the Senior Deduction. Why should how much money I saved in my IRA matter on how much tax I pay on Social Security? I followed the same damn rules putting money into SS as the seniors who spent all their income rather than save for a comfortable future. Fortunately, I haven't done the numbers or read the 800 or so pages but I believe I might make up for it by deducting the State taxes up to $40K a year on the taxes I pay on my capital gains and my IRA distributions.

Anyone know if the $40K SALT deduction is permanent?
