If an investment moves up - but, mules down against a different investment - WHY not pay more attention to the stronger one?

And, there is no need to be too precise. Studies show that short term trends, lasting a month or 2 - have a strong tendency to reverse. So do longer term trends, lasting for a few years. The best plays are Intermediate term trends - after they’ve been continuing for 5-6 months without reversing. Those are the ones more likely to continue longer.
