| | | A few years ago I bought this Russian internet stock, I think it's name was Yandex? Something like that. It had Russia's Uber and Doordash type businesses I think. I just bought a small bit to invest in Russian internet stocks.
Then Russia invaded Ukraine, and YNDX was halted. For about 3 years! That sucked.
When YNDX came out of being halted, they changed their name to NBIS, and had about $750m cash (from the sale of the Russian internet assets, I think). They then raised like $1 billion cash, and as I understand it, now they are building AI Datacenters in various locations around the globe.
I sold my NBIS, because I don't understand how a company can just spend money to build an AI datacenter, and make lots of money doing it (selling AI datacenter services, I suppose). It seems to me any large tech company with reasonable know how and lots of cash can build a great AI datacenter, which perhaps becomes obsolete in 10 years the way tech goes.
But the stock has done well. |
