IMO, central banks started buying gold to diversify their reserves and also have better protection against the US weaponization of its currency. Their decisions is not really based profits or inflation hedges. They will just keep buying so long as it makes sense to them.

But the volume in the gold chart is very telling. You can see that for much of the move the volume gently drifted up (very gently), and then suddenly retail and funds got involved and it went parabolic.

As I mentioned before, I think 3700 will act like a magnet of sorts. But I follow the trend. And since I explained my trading system in depth today, you should have no issues reading this chart.

One way or another, price and trend end up meeting each other. One of them moves to meet the other, while the other waits (or walks). We'll see which one.



PS Note what happens to the price every time there is a volume spike.
