It's a good series and it felt even better when it first came out because it balanced privacy vs surveillance with hints of AI in a detective mystery setting. Near the end of the series they emphasized the AI aspect, which at the time was very science fictiony but is now more plausible. I still don't like how they went about it and made the plot, but the regular theme was getting tired and they needed a way to close the series.
