That's why the 30 year Treasury is a dangerous and risky instrument.

Inflation if above 2% i t becomes a long term loser.

Owning debt free, or near debt free companies that pay a nice solid dividend (that grows) and buy back their outstanding shares (at a rate greater than they dole out to employees) is by far the more secure investment.

Stocks like CVX, XOM, AMAT, and LRCX who buyback millions of shares a year, and then buy up large assets (with their valuable stock price) (make tax free mergers and acquisitions for the lucky shareholders of the acquired company) that the greedy government has just begun to tax) is by far safer ,than betting on our government not drowning in debt far ouot in the future.

The largest threat to our capitalist system is fascism, where the government owns everything and we will love it?

NOT!
