Gee, Dwight, I said some time ago that this Clinton scandal had things in common with the OJ Simpson case, except that no one had gotten killed (although I know there are some who would disagree with that). Incidentally, is there anything new on the investigation of the Starbucks clerk? The sheer spectacle, the misinformation, the spin, the public's fascination with something sordid, and then when OJ drove right by Monica's house to pick up his son's friend and stopped to talk to newpeople, it was pretty hilarious.
From all the legal analyst "talking heads" I have heard on the networks, Starr is generally well respected. He had no prosecutorial experience, although he was considered to be very impartial and ethical, so he recruited a very skilled upper level staff of career prosecutors from all over the United States. Obviously, Reno does have some confidence in him, and I am sure Clinton does not want another Saturday Night Massacre, so we will just wait and see. It is simply too bad that so few Americans can see that they are victims of a calculated spin.
Say, Dwight, are you following the Governor Jim Guy Tucker subplot in the Starr investigation? What do you think his cooperation may reveal, and how long will it take before the public knows anything? |
