Christine, that was a very good, rational description of the truly bizarre behavior exhibited by the White House. I might even go a step further and describe the Clinton defense strategy as paranoid delusional.
I noticed though, that even this even-handed editorial gave lip-service to the idea that describes Starr as "unsavory the tactics of your determined accusers."
No mention was made that Janet Reno is obviously among those in power, among others below her, to deny Starr things he wants.
The killing at Starbucks strikes me as odd right away, as Georgetown is certainly not the slums where one would expect murders to be more commonplace. Georgetown, from the partial day I spent there, seemed to me to be one of the nicest, most quiet parts of Wash. DC. Crowded with tourists, nice restaurants, etc, so Starbucks would fit right in. But of course, murdering thieves can appear anywhere. I would certainly be interested in hearing all 22 hours of Monica's conversations to Linda Tripp, particularly that reference to "I don't want to end up like Katie Mahoney." The idea that Linda Tripp may have coached and "guided" Monica to say something like really stretches the imagination. A comment like that, wouldn't you think that the investigation into Katie Mahoney's death would be reopened? Unless the police are on the take there. Or maybe they can't be bothered by the brutal slaying of a young woman. Maybe I'll do a search for that link on the report of her death in the London Telegraph.
Christine, no doubt you are aware that Hillary Rodam was on the legal team that drew up impeachment proceedings against Nixon. Today, Rush Limbaugh said that Hillary, in her legal capacity on that team, drew up a legal brief arguing that Nixon should be denied legal counsel while he was being investigated. Can you believe the hypocrisy of these people. Then they have the gall to attack Starr as being a "thug", and "unsavory", among the nicer things they've said.
If those legal briefs from that time are on the internet somewhere, I'd really be interested to see that, and see it signed by Hillary. I should be totally incredulous, but I guess I'm used to such hypocrisy by these current occupants of our White House.
I hope you enjoyed your brussells sprouts; back to a little more work for me. |
