Dwight, I could not find much on the Georgetown murders when I looked. I have read interesting things since, but could not find the urls. Perhaps someone else will help me out here. In any event, here is the original news report:

Starbucks workers found dead
WASHINGTON - Three Starbucks Coffee employees were found shot to death Monday in their shop in the capital's upscale Georgetown area.
Area residents were shocked by the murders at the Wisconsin Avenue coffee shop. It is across the street from a supermarket known for its high-profile clientele including Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former House Speaker Tom Foley and former Kansas Sen. Nancy Kassebaum Baker.
The store's doors were locked when the three were found, and nothing appeared to have been stolen, said a homicide detective.
The three young workers apparently were shot late Sunday night after the shop closed, police said. The bodies were discovered in a back room by a manager who arrived before dawn to reopen the shop. Each had been shot in the head, one several times.
The victims, all residents of Washington, were identified as Aaron David Goodrich, 18; Mary Caitrin Mahoney, 24, and Emory Allen Evans, 25.
As I've said before, I find it very far-fetched that the Clintons would murder people, and don't want to create any more hysteria around here than there is already. But I do know that the investigation is ongoing. Mahoney was an activist lesbian, so if this was a murder it was because of something she had heard or seen, not because Slick boinked her.
Regarding the editorial in the San Francisco Chronicle, we are very liberally Democratic out here, as you know. Still, to point that at Clinton when he stopped by to do some fund-raising was excellent, I thought. That is the third negative editorial that I have noticed in the past couple of weeks by our local rag, incidentally. |
