Christine, my post was squarely aimed at the plight of the mentally ill who have been forced to live on the cruel streets of North American cities.

Considering that at least several million North Americans are chronically mentally ill, the small amount of resources being applied to alleviate their plight is nothing short of criminal.

Even when they were institutionalized, the mentally ill were scandalously treated. Prior to the advent of anti-pyschotic drugs, the mentally ill had portions of their brains carved out, were subject to indiscriminate shock treatment, and were put into insulin shock. On top of this most institutions were run by brutes that made nurse Ratchet look like an angel.

The mentally ill are one minority that has no rights.But I digress. This is not a subject for the Boink thread so I will keep my views to myself.
