Christine, re I believe that if the tape were not authentic, it would have been challenged at that time, and the networks would not have played it. The media have an inordinate amount of collective power to convince "the public" of virtually anything on their agenda, as we all have seen. One day Corporate chiefs are trembling in fear of smiling at their secretaries in an overly warm manner, and the next day the media is repeatedly playing clips (at least on our local station), of women saying that a guy showing a woman their private parts is no big deal. In my opinion, so-called journalists and "news reporting" institutions have lost a tremendous amount of credibility, and therefore everything heard from the media must be taken with extreme caution. I thought the Gennifer Flowers/Clinton voice clip sounded unimpressive, and until a court of law can agree with so-called expert witnesses, I remain unimpressed.
