Holly,

>>Thanks for posting that. I see Kenneth Starr and his ilk as self-perpetuating menaces,
in the same category as Tailgunner Joe McCarthy. It does disturb me that the US
Constitution is not mentioned or even alluded to in the article.
<<

I'm all for the constitution, but where in the constitution does it say that an elected official, just by virtue of his position, can evade the inquiries of legally appointed authorities?

Could you or I have held off the police for 24 hours while we ransacked Vince Foster's office and then removed the papers to safer grounds? Could we summon hundreds of FBI files of our political opponents to our home, there to peruse them for a year or so, before it was accidentally discovered they were there?
Mr. C. has been accused of many things the investigation of which has been impeded because of his position, including the looting of a bank in Arkansas and the possibility of a payoff disguised as cattle futures trades.

So despite Starr's occasional heavy handedness, some of us aren't so prompt to defend the Clintons' rights when they have thumbed their noses at all the bona fide efforts to investigate their acts in the past.

Jack
